I am a 31-year-old woman who decided to be ‘childfree’, at least till my biological clock makes a subtle sound alert. You know being in this situation in my country (India) attracts to what? “A pile load of harsh judgments”.
Label terms: ‘selfish’ ‘coward’ ‘incomplete’ ‘satanic’ ‘un-woman’, ‘terrible wife’ and what not! 🤦
Through my 7 years of marriage, people have pulled me in all directions and told me how not having a child is a bad decision and how motherhood completes a woman’s life. I am not denying the fact that the experience of being a mother is blissful and fulfilling; I am genuinely happy for all the lovely mothers out there. ❤️💕💖 All what I am saying is as women and as any normal human beings, we have a thing called ‘reproductive choice’. Also, we have a lot to offer to the world besides our uteruses.
🙎 If you are a woman who is still figuring out maternal instincts and is at the scrutiny of the society, “YOUR OWN BIOLOGICAL CLOCK TICKS LOUD ENOUGH; YOU REALLY DON’T NEED PEOPLE REMINDING YOU OF THAT.”
🙎 If you are a woman who has chosen to be child-free “YOU ARE PERFECTLY NORMAL, COMPLETE, AND AMAZING!”
🙎 For all other lovely women who are mothers and are trying to conceive “LOVE & HUGS!”
Let us all respect and love each other. Let us give our fellow women the space to celebrate her ‘CHOICE’ <3 <3 <3
PS: I love kids and I am the coolest godmother ever. The pic right here is me having fun with my little monkeys (godchild/nephews). I love them and they love me; unconditionally. But my life is also my own, and oh so very capable of personal choice! 😃
